About West Mont and the Festival

West Mont is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has been caring for Montanans since 1973. We serve over 250 individuals with developmental disabilities annually and, in support of this noble cause, we also put on a great show!

In partnership with the Lewis & Clark Brewery, West Mont will host its third annual and newly branded Wake the Giant Music and Color Festival August 25th and 26th. Our event will be held at the Lewis & Clark Tap Room (1535 Dodge Ave) and our 34-acre West Mont Farm & Gardens venue (3240 York Rd) in Helena. Psst... look for the so-called "sleeping giant" formation - officially referred to as Beartooth Mountain - on your drive to the farm!

Our Montana-based festival is about organized giving, great music, and experiential connection. It has featured talent from across the West spanning the genres of rock, country, folk, and bluegrass. This year, in addition to hayrides and animal encounters, get ready for a color throw (Day 2) to ceremoniously closeout summer.

All event proceeds go to the West Mont Foundation and benefit adults with disabilities.

INFO

If you plan to participate in our color throw on day 2, please wear clothing that you don't mind getting colorful. Our color product is 99% corn starch and washes right out of clothing with a standard run through a washer and dryer. It washes off of skin and out of hair with soap and shampoo but can take a few days to fully wash out if you have light-colored hair, so be warned (and if you feel the need, wear a cap or a hat that covers your hair). If you have breathing issues and wish to participate, please bring and wear a dust mask. Eyewear is a good idea for all participants and towels can be a great way to keep your vehicle upholstery clean on the ride home.

Your festival ticket does NOT include color packets; if you wish to participate in the color throw you will be able to purchase color packets online with ticket purchases or onsite the day of the event (no colors purchased outside of our event venue will be allowed). Packets will run $3 for one or $12 for five and will be available on a first come, first served basis.
